Riotous Okada Operators Invade Bibire Ajape's Residence
Okada operators numbering about one hundred today invaded the private residence of the Special Adviser to the state Government on Utility and Transport, Alhaji Bibire Ajape destroying properties including, the Security gate.
The protesters burnt tyres to scare away residents of the area. The Security apartment of the security guard was also damaged.
The Kwara State Command of the Nigerian Police has ordered a twenty four hour surveillance at the residence of the Special Adviser.
When contacted Alhaji Bibire Ajape said there was no going back on the orders of the state Government as the decision was taken to ensure the safety of lives and property of innocent citizens.
Alhaji Ajape said the protest of the Okada riders would not deter him from performing his official responsibility.
It would be recalled that the State Government had restricted the operation of Okada in certain areas within Ilorin metropolis following the security report that most of the crimes being committed were from the handiwork of okada riders.
The ban takes effect from today.
