KWARA GOVT COMMITS TO COLLABORATIONS TO DEVELOP STATE

Kwara State government has restated its commitment to collaborate with relevant organisations in its drive to develop the State.

The State Deputy Governor, Elder Peter Kisira, stated this Thursday in Ilorin while receiving a delegation from Star Deep Water Petroleum limited, a Chevron Company.

Elder Kisira noted that government alone cannot shoulder the responsibility of providing social amenities for the people hence the need to partner with private organisations and agencies in meeting the needs of the citizen.

The Deputy Governor pledged the readiness of the government to maintain and sustain projects provided by the Company in the State particularly in Eruku and Isanlu-Isin towns.

He commended Chevron for its good job and scholarship given to indigenes of the State and across the country.

Elder Kisira thanked the company for its effort in the education sector and provision of amenities in the State urging its to sustain the tempo.

Also speaking, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Government House, Mr Leke Ogungbe thanked the company for its social responsibility drive and called on Chevron to assist in equipping the State International Vocational Training Centre at Ajasse-Ipo.

Mr Ogungbe reiterated government’s desire to partner with the company in skill acquisition to meet the needs and yielding of the people.

The leader of delegation from Chevron, Mr Michael Kabi, ?commended the State for being a good partner adding that over 100 indigenes of the State are currently enjoying their scholarship.

Mr Kabi who stated that the objective of the company is to make Nigeria better explained that the focus was in the areas of education, Health and Economic empowerment.

The leader of delegation who highlighted some of the projects and activities of the company called for maintenance of the projects provided in the State.
