KWARA lawmakers call for database of unemployed youths in LGA's

The kwara State house of assembly has urged the sixteen local government councils in the state to have a database for the compilation of all unemployed youths in their various domain.

The recommendation was sequel to the adoption of a motion raised by the leader of the house, Alhaji Hassan Oyeleke of Esaa/Shawo/ Igbiodun constituency on finding a lasting solution to recession in youth unemployment.

The house leader said the problem of recession is a global issue hence to look inward to find a lasting solution to the problem of unemployment.

Alhaji Hassan explained that the constitutional reform in the pipeline will be of benefit to the local government councils adding that when the there is job opportunities the youths can be picked from the database to fill the vacancy.

Other members who contributed to the motion said the database will assist the state and the local governments to have a quality representation in the scheme of things. They also said it will give the government an idea of those who have been employed accurately.

Presiding over the plenary, the deputy Speaker, Elder Matthew Okedare-Jebba , charged the local government chairmen across the sixteen local government to grab the opportunity in order to help provide job opportunities to the unemployed youth.
