Issa Gata joins newly promoted ABS FC

Kwara United mercurial forward, Issa Gata has completed his move to the newly promoted Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC after all the necessary documents have been signed by all the concern parties.

After rising through the youth rank of Kwara Football Academy and Kwara United feeders, the player graduated to the main team and played an integral role to ensure Kwara United secured promotion back to NPFL in 2014 but the Afonja Warriors got relegated after just a season in the elite division.

The younger brother of Ismaila Gata who shown like a million stars in the NPFL last season with Niger Tornadoes and FC Ifeanyi Ubah was previously linked with series of NPFL Clubs last season but choosed to stay another season with Kwara United.

An elated Gata disclosed to naijafootballplus.com that he has switched to ABS FC for the coming season. "I'm very happy to switch to ABS FC. They are ambitious club and I'm very delighted to be part of this great club that's about to make history. The handler of this team, Henry Makinwa is a great tactician and I'm looking forward to work with him.

"Their style of play even while at the lower division is beautiful. You can see a magnificent and magical touch of coach Henry Makinwa on this team, so therefore, I'm convinced this team will reach a landmark and excel in the coming season.

"I can't wait for the season to get underway as we are hungry for league matches. The people of Kwara will enjoy entertainment football and they will see their team flying high in the top division but I'm also using this medium to appeal to fans to always troop-out en mass to cheer us to victory.

"We had a very good outing in the just concluded NNL super 4 but we were unfortunate not to clinch the trophy as we were edged out by Katsina United in the final but we have known where it went wrong and when the season gets underway, we shall make it a worthwhile experience to the people of Kwara.

"I've had series of offers but I chose to continue my career at home because I see a bright future with this team. I appreciate everybody that made this move be a success and I promise to give my very best to ensure ABS FC stand firmly in the top division and cement their stay in the Nigeria Professional Football League", Gata concluded.
