Lottery commission workers protest 'insensitivity' of management

Date: 2016-12-15

Workers of the National Lottery Regulations Commission in Kwara state have staged a protest over alleged maladministration and insensitivity of the management.

The staff who marched through major streets of Ilorin yesterday, made allegation of poor welfare.

One of the spokespersons of the workers, David Ajayi, said the workers had sat for promotion examination twice in the last six years without the expected promotion.

He also said that N20,000 Ramadan bonus meant for all the workers totaling 3,000 was given to selected members of staff, and that their duty tour allowance had not been paid.

Speaking on the development on phone, the Director General of the commission, Adolphus Ekpe, denied the allegations, saying the plan of the commission was aimed at regularizing appointment of the staff.
