Hoodlums who strangled widow to death over money, bags of rice nabbed in Kwara

A group of suspected robbers who strangled a widow to death in Kwara State and carted away money and bags of rice,has been nabbed.

The suspects were employed by the rice farmer, Mrs. Florence Ede and they conspired and killed her, carting away 11 bags of rice.

The Commissioner of Police, CP, in the state, Olusola Amore, who confirmed their arrests while briefing newsmen on Thursday in Ilorin, said they were arrested on November 23 for allegedly macheting the victim to death in her farm at Yashikira, in Baruten Local Government Area of the state.

"The stolen rice belonging to the victim and the Golf car used in carrying the commodity were recovered from the suspects.

"The suspects - Kofi Kawku, Ali Dauda, Gomina Umaru, Ali Sabi, Abubarka Basira and Ayuba Adamu, would be charged to court soon," he stated.
