Again, taxi driver found dead in Ilorin
For three weeks now, cases of mysterious death have continued to recur in parts of Ilorin metropolis with a taxi driver being the latest causality.
The man, simply identified as Jimoh Aduagba, aka Baba Razaki, of Oduagba Compound, Baboko, Ilorin, was found dead in a cab with registration no Kwara XB 846-BDU parked at Eruda area of the metropolis at the weekend.
When our reporter visited the spot of the incident around 11.00am, the man's lifeless body was found reclining in the front passenger's seat, while foam had already covered his nostrils.
Residents of the area were seen outside discussing in groups and gazing helplessly at the scene of horror, while some of the passers-by dared to catch the sight of the deceased.
The corpse's identity was unknown at first, but it was later recognised by a relation who was just passing by.
According to eyewitness accounts, the taxi was driven to the area by a yet-to-be identified man, who pretended to be making a phone call after parking very close to a small bush by the roadside.
"We heard the speed of a car from inside and when we came out to know what was happening, we saw one man making a phone call by the taxi. Not long after, he left the taxi and went away," an eyewitness said.
Asked how the corpse was detected, he said "when after some minutes the man did not return, we decided to move to where the taxi was parked only to meet a dead body inside."
Meanwhile, the police were not involved in the matter apparently for fear that doing so might slowdown vthe burial arrangement for the deceased.
Blueprint had reported the mysterious death of a final year Economics students of Al-Hikmah University and a decomposing corpse found along Asa-Dam Road, Ilorin. All this happened within a space of two weeks.
