Idiape community and Saraki dynasty now one - Bukola Saraki
Sen. Bukola Saraki has advised Nigerians to unite and ensure harmonious relationship with one another for the overall development of the country.
Saraki, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology, gave the advice on Monday while receiving members of Idiape Community in his residence in Ilorin.
The senator, representing Kwara Central, noted that there could not be any meaningful development in an atmosphere of chaos and acrimony.
He described the visit by the community as historic, adding that he was ready to accept its members to enable them contribute their quota to the development of the state.
Saraki paid glowing tribute to late Muhammed Lawal, one time governor of Kwara, describing the deceased as a hero, who lived a life worthy of emulation.
He explained that the Idiape community and Saraki dynasty were now one, assuring them that their request would be granted.
The senator said he had forgotten about the past cold war between his family and Idiape community for peace to continue to reign in the state.
Earlier, in his speech, the spokesman of Idiape community, Alhaji Isiaka Owolabi, said the community paid the visit to join hands with the present administration in the state to develop the state.
He added that the visit was to re-unite the Lawal family with Saraki family for peace to reign within the two families.
Owolabi expressed the gratitude of the Idiape dynasty to the present administration in the state for immortalising the name of Muhammed lawal by renaming the Ilorin Gulf Club after him.
Also speaking, a former Commissioner for Special Duties, Alhaji Razaki Lawal, said he was relieved that Saraki was ready to accept Idiape community into PDP.
He described the collective decision of the community to join PDP as long overdue.
