Following the withdrawal of alleged forgery case against the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki by the Federal Government, the Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ali Ahmad has commended the Hon. Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN and the highly experienced Federal Prosecutor, Aliyu Umar, SAN for their courage in withdrawing the action.

?Ahmad, in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Shuaib Abdulkadir in Ilorin described the on-going trials of the senate president as 'very distracting'.

The Speaker lamented that such distraction is uncalled for, especially now that the nation's economy is witnessing recession, saying that the country's situation required all hands to be on deck in order to overcome the challenges.

?Ahmad said, "any criminal case is distracting and that is the last thing our leaders need at this critical period when everyone must come together to pull the country out of recession"

"Similar cases that were hastily filed also deserve urgent reconsideration by the Attorney-General. The senate president should be allowed to continue with his good work for his fatherland"

"Inspite of the distraction, the senate president has never for once failed in his duty to serve the nation well. He continuously ?work on how to ensure that teeming masses are catered for and importantly how government can improve their well-being"
