In a bid to continue the drive towards an improved tax administration and ensure efficiency and optimization of service delivery, the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service, (KWIRS) Dr. Muritala Awodun announced the changes in his management team. Speaking at a management meeting on Monday 29 August 2016, Dr Awodun stated that the changes which is geared towards optimization of human resources was approved by the Executive Governor of the State, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed. He added that this takes immediate effect as all the Management staff are to report to their new desks by 1 Sept 2016. He however explained that all hand over process should be concluded by 30 September 2016.

The changes include the transfer of the Director of Admin and Corporate Affairs Mrs Adenike Babajamu to Operations and Process. Mr Lekan Rotimi now a full Director takes the position of Director of Admin. Dr Isaac Gbenle is to head the Legal Enforcement and Monitoring Directorate while Alh Nuhu Olaide Muhammed is to steer the ship of the HNIs and Corporate Directorate.

Alhaja Iyabo Abubakar moves to the Directorate of MDAs while Alhaja Omolara Ojulari is to head a new directorate carved out of the MDAs; Property Tax. Mr Segun Olaniyi takes over the Directorate of Informal Sector.

Dr Awodun admonished all the directorate heads to view the change positively and come up with strategies on how to positively impact their new offices. He assured everyone of executive support where required.
