Economic Recession: Stop Cursing Nation's Political Leaders, Olofa of Offa Advises Nigerians

Date: 2016-08-21

A first class traditional ruler in Kwara State, Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Oloyede Esuoye II has advised Nigerians against cursing the nation's political leaders rather they should continue to pray for them in order to assist them to address the current economic recession facing the country.

Oba Oloyede made the counsel in Offa when he received the management of Adeleke University, Ede, Osun state led by its vice chancellor, Professor Ekundayo Alao in his palace to congratulate the monarch on his recent victory at the Supreme Court, Abuja.

According to him,"the cursing of the nation's political leaders is not the solution to the present socio-economic challenges facing the people of the country".

He said that,"the Nigerians should henceforth embark on fervent prayers that would give the nation's leaders to tackle various challenges in the country.

"They are like our drivers and if you curse your driver,he can't drive you to safety. So,we have no other option than to pray for them.I believe they are also not happy with the present situation in the country,so they are also struggling to put things right and if you now curse them it's double jeopardy."

Oloyode, who stressed the need for Nigerians to be more patience with the government said that, it's inconceivable that Nigeria would be compared with other developed nations like US, UK and others in terms of what they have, saying that they have paid their own dues and learn through the process.
