Abdulfatah Ahmed, Kwara, Anti-CultismThe Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, has vowed to enforce the state's anti-cultism law, as amended, to the letter.

He believes this would make the state unwelcome for those involved in cultism and other nefarious acts. The governor made the pledge during the swearing-in of the acting Grand Kadi of Shariah Court of Appeal at the Government House, Ilorin.

According to him, the state government believes that the amended law will also bring an end to cultism in Kwara State as anyone caught in cultist activities will spend 14 years in prison when prosecuted.

Governor Ahmed explained that the laws would work more efficiently if parents, guardians and others members of society keep a closer eye on the youths, ensure vigilance and report any unusual behaviors or movement to security agencies for investigation. He gave the assurance that the administration would continue to prioritize the promotion of the rule of law and enhance access to justice.

Governor Ahmed commended the cordial relationship existing among all sectors in the administration of justice in the state. He called for continued partnership in the execution of justice programmes.
