FG begins work on Ajase-lpo/Offa Road

Date: 2016-07-25

Sequel to the signing of the Appropriation Act 2016 which captured the Ajase-Ipo /Offa /Erin Ile /Ilaodo road, work has commenced on its rehabilitation.

From Amberi to Eleyoka section of the road, grading has commenced while work was also ongoing on the construction of the side drainage.

When The Herald visited the site, none of the workers was willing to talk to the press on the progress of work, but materials were being offloaded at the Amberi Community LGEA School.

However, the member, representing Ifelodun /Offa /Oyun federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Olayonu Olarinoye Tope Danlad, in an interview on the status of the road, stated that it was the collective efforts of legislators from the area with the support of the Senate President, Dr Abubarkar Bukola Saraki that facilitated the inclusion of the road in the Appropriation 2016, stating that he had personally followed up with the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA).

Olayonu said he was happy that the road had been given priority attention by the federal government as part of first phase of projects to be embarked upon this year.
