Oladosu highlights benefits of Ramadan fasting
The Chief Imam of the University of Ilorin, Prof. A. G. A. S. Oladosu, has highlighted the moral, physical and spiritual benefits of Ramadan fast. Prof. Oladosu spoke while featuring on "Oro t'o nlo", a Unilorin FM Yoruba current affairs programme last Tuesday (June 14, 2016).
According to the Professor of Arabic Language Education, fasting during the month of Ramadan will make one physically fit, spiritually balanced and medically okay.
He pointed out that Ramadan fast is capable of curing chronic diseases like diabetes, obesity, heart and kidney problems. The Chief Imam advised state governors owing civil servants in their respective states to find a way of paying them in order to remove the hardship confronting the workers.
He observed that the reason behind the woe and bad governance in Nigeria is due to lack of the fear of Allah. Prof. Oladosu noted that for Nigeria to move forward, we need to go back to the root and retrace our steps. He then pointed out that we need to seize the opportunity provided by the Ramadan to seek the favour of Allah. The Chief Imam stressed further that the wide gap between the rich and the poor should be bridged during the glorious month, adding that people only "sympathize without empathizing".
