Olusola Saraki task Nigerians on governance
Second Republic Senate Leader, Dr. Olusola Saraki, has called on Nigerians to have faith in their country and offer unflinching support and prayers for the political leadership.
The Kwara State political kingpin said at the weekend in Lagos while addressing friends, associates and well-wishers who came to receive him on arrival from his vacation in the United States, that Nigeria is undergoing a critical transformation in its history.
Saraki, the founder of Northern Union, according to the Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Kwara State, Alhaji Masud Adebimpe, stressed that Nigeria's unity was not negotiable.
And to ensure good governance, Nigerians have been urged to vote for candidates on merit and not political parties.
Saraki pointed out that the country's founding fathers toiled to have what is today known as Nigeria, stressing that their labour and sacrifices must not be in vain.
On his rumoured death about two weeks ago, he responded philosophically: "What you cannot give you cannot take it. Only Allah gives life and only Him can take it. I am back hale and hearty."
Karounwi, who is contesting the chairmanship position of Abeokuta South Local Council on the platform of the Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN), disclosed that if elected, he would introduce mechanised farming and other ventures to boost the income of the council.
He added that agricultural development should be left for local councils, which are close to the grassroots.
