Museum Day celebrated in Kwara amidst funfair
The National Commission for Museum and Monument -Ilorin museum, has celebrated this year's international museum day with dance,drama and a temporary exhibition with the theme :Kwara-Home of exquisite cultural land scape and sites.
Speaking during her short address,curator of Ilorin Museum Mrs Omotayo Adeboye who noted that the international museum day is set aside to create awareness on the important role Of museum in the developmental of any nation also advocated for the promotion of tourism and diversification of Nigeria's economic base.
Also speaking at the event ,the permanent secretary in the kwara state Ministy of culture,Alhaji Mustapha Abdulganiyu appealed to parents and teachers to encourage their children in learning indigenous language while paying attention to culture.
The International museum day is celebrated on the 18th of May by professionals in the museum world.
