Residents of Oke-Odo, in Tanke, Ilorin, Kwara state capital, were Wednesday, thrown into shock as the body of an unnamed Okada rider was found beheaded in a bush. The discovery of the corpse was said to have angered community members and some commercial motorcyclists in the area who alerted the police.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi, said the police had commenced investigation into the death.

He said the information gathered was that motorcyclist was killed in the said area of the state. The PPRO noted that the suspect was the person the motorcyclist conveyed.

"Other Okada riders in the area wanted to lynch the passenger on the allegation that he killed the victim, but our men got to the scene on time and rescued the suspect. "We are still investigating the incident," Okasanmi added.
