22 suspects in prison over murder in Kwara

Twenty two persons were yesterday remanded in prison by a Magistrate Court in Ilorin, Kwara State for the alleged killing of one Muyideen Ibrahim.

The suspects are; Ibrahim Shaba, a.k.a. escort, Isiaka Amosa, Abiodun Salihu, Muritala Hassan, Moshood Bello, Babatunde Jamiu and Aduke Bello (female).

Others are Shaba Olaiya, Suleiman Isah, Olarewaju Shehu, Aliu Abubakar, Ismaila Shaba, Ibrahim Kuranga, Olarewaju Abdullahi and Abubakar Bashiru.

Also included are Suleiman Babatunde a.k.a. officer, Olamilekan Umar, Aliyu Kaze, Abdullahi Azeez, Bashir Saheed, Ibrahim Olaiya and Akeem Ajia Abdullahi all of Agaka area Ilorin.

The suspects who were arraigned over criminal conspiracy, disturbance of public peace, mischief and culpable homicide were ordered to be remanded at Federal Prison Yard, Oke-kura Ilorin, by Magistrate M. A. Ndakene.

Daily Trust learnt that the case was transferred from Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) office Ilorin to Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department following the report of one Barr. Akanbi Dare on December 25, 2015 that the late Muyideen Ibrahim was killed by a group of hoodlums with a gun.

The prosecution said police investigation revealed that all of the accused persons were celebrating carnival and at the same time conspired together and shot the deceased and thereafter instigated violence and went on rampage along Agaka, Baboko, Eruda, Alapata, Gambari and Ita-kure Ilorin and destroyed properties worth millions of Naira.
