Press Release: Kwara APC assures defectors of fairness, equity

Date: 2015-03-15

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State has assured defectors from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties in the state of fairness and equity ?in the management of party activities.

In a statement issued in Ilorin on Sunday by its State Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Sulyman Buhari, the party enjoined the new defectors and intending defectors to see the APC as not only their new political party but also their new home.

"Due to the frequency with which our party, the APC, receives large crowd of defectors in Kwara State especially defectors from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the continuous expression of intent to join our party by members of other political parties through our contact committees in the ward, local government and state government levels, it is quite necessary to reassure defectors and intending defectors of fairness and equity in the management of our party's activities.

"The new defectors and intending defectors should see APC as not only their new political party but also their new home.

"Politics is about the people and the developmen?t of the society. We are mindful of the fact that most of the defectors have been treated badly and were victims of undemocratic policies of their former political parties but solace exists in abundance in the APC.

"We salute their courage and the pro-people decision to dump their former political parties for the progressive APC at this point of history.? Level playing field is guaranteed in the APC.

"Meanwhile, while virtually other political parties are non-existent in Kwara State, the PDP is left with only its carcass and we encourage all men and women of good conscience that are yet to dump the PDP to quickly dump the party before it is finally interred and buried on the 28th of March and 11th of April, 2015.?", the statement read.
