Kwara United captain Dare Ojo has pledged that his side will extra work hard not to disappoint their football loving fans in the upcoming Nigeria Professional Football League.

The Afonja Warriors secured promotion to the top flight alongside Wikki Tourists from the Nigeria National League, the same team they beat 1-0 to win the third place match of the Nigeria National League Super Four tournament.

"We give God the glory, though we didn't really play too well but we came out victorious. Well, its a good result and same time not too good because we are just preparing for the new season, Ojo told Goal.

"I'm the captain of the team and at the same time a player, I think the coach must have seen some of our shortcomings and would work toward correcting that be the season starts," he continued.

"We just have to work of our defense line and the attack, finishing - that just the problems of the team. With that we are good to go.

On his experiences during their last season stint in the second tier league, he queried the inconsistency and biaz of match officials urging the league organisers to do more in ensuring fair officiating.

The Afonja Warriors' midfielder also passed a vote of confidence on his side's head coach Tunde Abdulrahman noting that new trainer has the capacity to return the team to its glory days and however promised they will not disappoint the fans in the upcoming league season.

"All the fans were very happy to see us back in the premier league. It is not easy playing in the national league, but we thank God coming back. We had a lot of experience in the NNL - from the referees, they are not doing enough at all. No good officiating in the NNL," he continued.

"We worked very hard to get back to the premier league. Our previous coaches did very well and must thank God for our management also helped us a lot doing a great job to get us back.

"I've confidence that he (Tunde Abdulrahman) can take us far. We can go far in the premier league because he has good training, his rapport with players is very good. He doesn't condemn player like our former coaches, he encourages us.

"For the fans, I know they are not happy but with time we will make them happy. We are going to through our efforts and our hard work make the happy coming to the premier league. It was the first match we played despite we played very well.

"But the fans we not happy because we lot the game. We have console the fans with out victory against Wikki. They should expect much from us this season and we won't disappoint them," he concluded.
