Herald ready to partner Alfathu-l-Qareeb ...As Society marks 10th anniversary
The Kwara State Printing and Publishing Corporation, Publishers of The Herald Newspapers is set to partner religious societies in its bid to ensure human development and peaceful co-existence in the society.
The General Manager of the corporation, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Adebayo made this disclosure yesterday while receiving members of the Alfathu-l-Qareeb Muslim Organization of Nigeria, Akerebiata branch who paid him a courtesy call in his office.
Adebayo who revealed that based on his personal assessment of religious societies in the state the Akerebiata branch of Alfathu-l-Qareeb society remains a force to reckon with on its impactful activities on the society. In his words, "I'm critical of this type of religious societies because you will just be hearing their noise without any meaningful impact on their immediate environments.
But based on my personal assessment of your activities the Akerebiata branch of Alfathu-l-Qareeb society is impacting not just on its immediate society but the larger society also.
"Therefore, our doors are always open and we will continue to partner with you in projecting the true position of Islam and also ensuring that peaceful religious harmony is maintained in this state and the country at large."
Earlier, The Legal Adviser of the Society, Bar. Abdulkareem Sulimen had appreciated both the staff and Management of the Corporation for positively projecting the activities of the society for the past 10 years.
According to him, "The Herald has been a major partner to this society for the past 10years and we have at this time come to appreciate you for a job well done."
Enumerating some of the achievements of the Society, Bar. Suliemen revealed that the society prays for the peace of the nation and has built a Mosque and a school at Akerebiata where students are taught both Western and Islamic education.
Also speaking, the Missioner of the Society, Ustaz Sheu Olodomeji; the chairman of the anniversary committee, Mukadam Mashood Yahaya Ogobire; representative of the society's Chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Ibitoye and Woman Leader of the Society, Alhaja Sadiat Awal also lauded the unflinching support of the corporation to the society and urged the corporation to keep it up.
The 10 year anniversary celebration of the society kicked off yesterday while the opening of the Friday Mosque will take place today. The grand finale of the 10 year anniversary is slated for Sunday, 11th January 2015.
