OPINION: Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem, a servant of the People. By Olatunji Mukhtar
Professor Oba's resignation from the Federal Character Commission, FCC, is mainly for the betterment of Kwarans and nothing else is attached to it. God has always called us to serve those whom we lead. Be willing to serve without trying to reap the benefits. No one is truly a success in life until he or she has learned how to serve.
Prof. Oba has cultivated the habit of helping others and he has proven himself beyond reasonable doubt. The way to the throne room is through the servant-hood quarters.
One of the most powerful decisions you can make in your life is to do something for someone who doesn't have the power or resources to return the favour. Prof Oba renders help to Kwarans regardless of tribe or religion and this is exactly the kind of people that we deserve in Kwara. The Holy book says; whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; and whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant.
A good leader must pose as a servant and not as a leader. Prof Oba is a liberal man who is ready to serve his people and also to correct all the abnormalities which has been in existence for long in our dear state. The time has come for us to draw the line. The time has come for a responsible person to become our governor.
