Adimula Empowers Community Women

Date: 2014-10-09

Complimenting the Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed's effort in ensuring young and aged women are empowered across the state, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Affairs, Mrs Biola Adimula has empowered no fewer than 100 young and aged women in Omupo, Kwara state.

It was a harvest of donations of skill acquisition materials and empowerment fund to women across Omupo and its environs, as Adimula, the Special Assistant to Governor Ahmed on women affairs, donated materials worth millions of naira to over 100 women trained in sewing and other trades.

The donated materials include: sewing machines for trained tailors, over 1,000 wrappers, cosmetology materials, and money for aged women among others to compliment the state government's fight against poverty. The donations came barely weeks after the Special Assistant did a synonymous empowerment for women across Kwara state.

During the event, Mrs. Adimula stated that she is committed to the course of fighting poverty in Kwara state as championed by Ahmed and Senator Bukola Saraki which explains why she has empowered hundreds of women across the state.

Speaking at the event, she urged other political office holders to compliment the state government's effort in fighting poverty in Kwara by touching the lives of the less privileged positively, as that is the only way politics can be relevant to the masses. Mrs Biola Adimula commended the First Lady of Kwara state, Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed for her effort in creating relevance for women in Kwara through her thoughtful and strategic advocacy. Speaking with newsmen at the event, one of the beneficiaries who spoke on behalf of others, Rasheedat Ayinla commended the Governor's Aide for the gesture and declared their unfailing support for the Governor Ahmed led administration.
