Baraje, Speaker others charge Muslims on peace at Sallah

As Muslim across the world celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir Sallah celebration, the former acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, has appealed to Muslims in the country to strengthen their faith in Allah and be submissive to His instructions.

Baraje, who is also a chieftain of the All Progressive Party, APC, made the appeal in his Sallah message to Nigerians.

Speaking on the significance of slaughtering rams after the two congregational prayers, he appealed to people that are capable of doing so to do it as a divine directive from Allah and sunnah of the holy Prophet Mohammed.

He also charged them to use the period to pray for genuine and people's leaders that would change the country for better.

Also, a federal lawmaker, Alhaji Mashood Mustapha called on all well meaning Nigerians of all faiths to seek the face of Allah at this trying period.

The lawmaker, who represents Ilorin West and Asa Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, made the call in his sallah message to Nigerians calling on Islamic and Christian clergies to preach with the absolute fear of God.

Similarly, the Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Justice, Dr. Ali Ahmad has warned Muslims against encouraging religious crisis and pray fervently for the country to overcome its numerous challenges.

Ahmad, who represents Ilorin East and South Federal Constituency, said Islam is a religion of peace and abhors violence.

The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Barrister Razak Atunwa also urged Muslims to imbibe the virtues of sacrifice, perseverance, tolerance, steadfastness, love and piety of Prophet Ibrahim as exemplified in Eid-el-Kabir sallah celebration to make Nigeria overcome her numerous challenges.
