Women screened for cancer in Kwara
A total of 10,000 women in Kwara State have been screened for breast and cervical cancer by LEAH Foundation, a non-government organisation owned by the wife of the governor, Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed.
This was made known by her office in Ilorin which stated that 26 screening centres have been established across the State.
The aim, according to the office was to assist those found to have traces of cancer to get treatments and give counseling and tips to those found to be free of cancer.
"The LEAH Foundation now has 26 screening centre's across 11 local government areas of the state and an ultra modern breast and cervical screening centre located in Ilorin, the state capital. So far over 10,000 women have been screened and referrals made as appropriate".
