Emir Tasks Policemen On Interpersonal Relationship
The emir of Ilorin, Alh. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has stressed the need for men and officers of the Nigerian Police to cultivate good interpersonal relationship with members of the public.
The emir gave the charge during a special send forth programme organised by the Kwara State Police Command for its outgoing commissioner, Ambrose Aisabor who was recently elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).
Represented by Mogaji Nda of Ilorin, Alh. Soliu Woru Mohammed, the emir said that if the policemen relate well with people, they would be able to easily access information in their fight against crime.
Sulu-Gambari also lent his voice to the calls for state police, saying that it would help to ensure effective policing of states.
He described the outgoing police commissioner as a man full of wisdom, saying that his effectiveness helped in keeping the state peaceful.
In his goodwill message, the special adviser on Security Matters to the state governor, Alh. Amusa Bello congratulated the new AIG on his promotion, noting that no major crime was recorded in the state during his tenure.
He also said the record of the immediate past police commissioner in the state is highly commendable, calling on other officers and men to emulate his exemplary conduct.
