Kwara transpoters to get truck terminals
Plans are on by the Kwara State government to institute a committee to review the framework for the construction of truck terminal for transport unions in the state.
Members of the committee would be drawn from the state and various transport unions including the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Road Transport Employers Association of Nigerian (RTEAN), among others.
The state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, disclosed this in Ilorin at the presentation of Peugeot cars to the 24 branch chairmen of the Kwara State council of NURTW.
Identifying the NURTW as a key player in the informal sector of the nation's economy, Ahmed pledged that the government would soon distribute additional 50 buses and 50 taxi-cabs to various transport unions in the state at interest-free price.
