Journalists Estate: Kwara NUJ urges members to pick up allocation documents
Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ),has advised members of the council who have subscribed to the first Phase of the state Journalists Estate Project and have paid the required land charges but yet to receive their allocation documents to pick them up from the NUJ Secretariat,along Offa Road GRA,Ilorin.
The Secretary of the state NUJ Strategic Development Committee,Mr Umar AbdulWahab, the committee saddled with NUJ Estate Project responsibility, made the announcement at the weekend during his visit to the site of the project,at Ganiki area of the Ilorin East Local Government Area of the state.
Abdulwahab,mentioned that the distribution of the allocation documents to some of the interested members that have paid up to the required amount of money has commenced some months back.
The secretary stated that the visit of some members of his committee and members of the council to the site of the project was to show some of the members who are yet to know the location of the project and to also see the recent development in the site.
While commending the state council of the NUJ for the rear opportunity given to all members of the Kwara state council of the union to own their own house ,Abdulwahab said "with this,the name of the state NUJ under the leadership of Mal. Abiodun AbdulKareem has been written in Gold".
The Secretary who also expressed joy over the commitments of members towards their commitments to the NUJ Estate Project,promised that the committee will ensure that all members that have paid will receive their shares in the project. He added that reasonable numbers of people have shown interest in the project,and the people cut across all the branches of the NUJ in the state.
The committee secretary appealed to some of the members that have acquired parts of the land to ensure that they continue the payments for the land has agreed between them and the committee.
He announced that forms are still available at the state NUJ secretariat,located opposite St Anthony's Secondary School,GRA,Ilorin at the rate of N2500,
