Prof. Shehu Jimoh's death, a colossal loss - Bola Shagaya

As Nigerians continue to mourn over the death of the Chairman Governing Council of the Kwara State Polytechnic and former Dean, Student Affairs University of Ilorin,Professor Shehu Jimoh, a chieftain of the Peoples' Democratic Party, PDP, Hajiya Muinat Bola Shagaya, yesterday described his death as a colossal loss to humanity.

She added that late Prof Jimoh has not only raised the bar in the Nigeria's education sector but that he also made meaningful impacts in lives of the generality of mankind.

In her condolence message issued in Ilorin, Hajiya Shagaya commiserated with the immediate family of the deceased, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Ilorin Emirate Council, Government and People of Kwara state and Nigerians at large over the sad happening.

Shagaya who is also a delegate to the on-going national conference noted that "without iota of doubt, late Shehu Jimoh, a retired Professor of Education Psychology from the University of Ilorin will always be remembered for his numerous contributions to the academics, religious and humanitarian aspects of human endeavours. He left the centre stage when the ovation was loud and clear.

"Until his death, late Shehu Jimoh was simple, humble and highly interested in the growth and peaceful co-existence of the people Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State and Nigerians at large."

"His landmark achievements and scholarship will remain the centre focus for Nigerians to emulate. We pray God Almighty to forgive his sins and grant him paradise."
