An Ilorin Area Court dissolved a three-year-old marriage between Rofiat Ahmed and Isiaka Ahmed over the man's lazy habit.

Rofiat, 30, a resident of Edun area in Ilorin, prayed the court to dissolve her marriage to Isiaka, on account of laziness.

The petitioner told the court that her husband was unable to provide for the family needs.

"My husband only sleeps at home shamelessly and expects me to fend for the family," she said.

She told the court that her marriage to Siaka was contracted in 2011, but produced no child till date.

"My Lord, I want an end to this marriage because I cannot tolerate it anymore with an idle man," she said.

The defendant, who did not object to the prayer of his wife, said he had tried all he could to find a job but failed.

"I don't know why my wife kept on frustrating me while she knows what I am passing through," he said.

He prayed the court to grant the prayer of his wife without delay.

The presiding judge, Mr. Yusuf Abdulkareem, dissolved the marriage and issued a certificate of divorce to the plaintiff.
