100 plus corporate organizations, state govts expected at FDI exhibition
Over 100 corporate organizations, state governments and individuals are participating in the Foreign Direct Investment Opportunities in Nigeria (FODION) exhibition holding in London.
The exhibition is coming up between June 26 and 27, 2014 at the Queen Elizabeth II conference centre and will cover all sectors of the Nigerian economy.
According to Kunle Aderemi, Chief Executive Officer, Global Ethnic Media and organizer of the event, the exhibition will give public and private concerns in Nigeria an opportunity to choose the best businesses around the world and work with them.
Aderemi stated that this would also be an opportunity for technology transfer, increase Gross Domestic Product and create employment opportunities.
The forum, he pointed out, would add value to every participating organization as well as individuals.
Aderemi disclosed that four states, Ogun, Ondo, Oyo, Kwara as well as UBA, Bank of China, Bank of India, D.A.W.N, Harmony Holdings, Metrodot Nigeria Limited, Etisalat and Nigeria Tourism Development Agency (NTDA) are participating.
He also said many government agencies, private companies as well as foreign businesses have confirmed their attendance.
He said there will be centenary and gala awards night to be graced by Dame Patience Jonathan, wife of President Goodluck Jonathan and Dalhatu Sarki Tafida, Nigerian High Commissioner in London among other top dignitaries.
A fashion show by Datina Designs will also be part of the centenary celebrations where awards will be given to businesses across Nigeria to recognise their contribution to Nigeria polity over the years.
Speaking on the economy, Aderemi said there was need to focus more on SMEs and governments at all levels should create an enabling environment for small businesses to thrive.
He stated that Government should mandate banks to give out loans on fixed interest rates to people to set up businesses.
