Prof Oba tasks National Salaries, Incomes & Wages on specific job allowance.
The chairman, Federal Character Commission (FCC), Professor Shuaibu Oba Abdul Raheem, has charged the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC) to review the peculiar allowance of FCC staff.
He added that such review would further encourage the employees of the Commission to be more committed to their job.
The FCC boss said this in a statement issued yesterday, by the chief press secretary, NSIWC, Mr. Maxwell Eseigbe. According to the statement, Raheem gave the charge when he led a delegation to pay a courtesy visit to the management and staff of NSIWC recently, “under the able leadership of High Chief Richard Egbule.”
Raheem added that if what he suggested was done, it would motivate the staff of the Federal Charater Commission to perform more and better, thus increasing their productivity.
Responding, the statement said, the chairman, NSIWC, Egbule, assured the FCC delegation that he “would do everything within the rules and financial constraints of government to ensure that the request was given adequate consideration.”
Egbule recalled that since setting up the Commission in 1992, FCC and NSIWC had both been promoting good working relationship, saying that he would continue to sustain the relationship.
He, however, noted that the major challenges facing the Commission included lack of office accommodation and well trained officers who could “take over from the present crop of staff who were retiring from the service.”
