Kwara gov advocates promotion of justice
Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State has called on Nigerians to always promote justice in the conduct of their private and public affairs for the betterment of the society.
Ahmed made the call in Ilorin, at the 2014 Mawlud Nabbiyy celebration of the Nasrullahi-l-Fathi Society of Nigeria (NASFAT).
The governor described Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as an epitome of virtue and called on Muslims and, indeed, Nigerians to emulate his exemplary character so that the country could become a better place.
Governor Ahmed, represented by his Special Assistant on Religious Matters (Muslim Affairs), Alhaji Abdulsalam Bello Babatunde, commended NASFAT for propagating Islam.
The chairperson on the occasion, Hajiya Habibat Salman-Saidu, condemned women abuse and called for a change of attitude among those who engaged in such act.
She stressed the need for Muslims to be at the vanguard of promoting peace in the country as a way of mitigating insecurity.
Also, the state chairman of NASFAT, Mr Bashir Lawal, said it was important that Muslim females were allowed the freedom of wearing hijab in public offices and schools.
Lawal asked political office holders to fear Allah in their dealings as everyone would account for their stewardship on the Day of Judgment.
