Corps Member Donates CBT Software to Varsity in Kwara
A 2013 batch "A" corps member in Kwara State, Sulaiman Teslim Olalekan, has donated computer based test (CBT) software to Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, where he is serving.
Besides, the corps member, as part of his community development service, also launched an on-line quiz for secondary schools in Kwara State as well as Corper's App, an android application and desktop version for learning the three major languages in Nigeria (Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba).
The application was specifically made for corps members in line with the language study book of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). The application also included safety tips for corps members.
Commissioning the projects at Al-Hikmah, a faith-based University in Ilorin, the corps member, a graduate of Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, said the CBT software was made with several features.
These features, he said, included display of student's name, matriculation number and photograph, random selection for each student to prevent examination malpractice, printing of examination result of each department, ability to get instant result, among others.
On the on-line quiz tagged: "Kwara Genius", he said the project, endorsed by the state's ministry of education, would enable students to log on to the page, www.kwaragenius.com to take multiple choice quiz that complied with WAEC and UTME syllabi.
Olalekan explained that students will be graded immediately they submit the test; review the test taken, or take another test in subjects like English, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Literature in English.
He said the motivation behind the projects was to leave legacies of service in the community he served.
The ICT Coordinator of Al-Hikmah University, Mr. A B Agbaje, who commissioned the projects with some corps members and NYSC officials, lauded the initiatives of the corps member, his colleagues and secondary school students in the state.
