Rangers and coach John Obuh have clashed over the return of former captain Okechukwu Odita to the Enugu club.

A very reliable source told MTNFootball.com that while the management is favourably disposed to the return of the tough-tackling defender who led the Kwara United defence last season, coach Obuh is against such a move.

"I can tell you that all is not well between management and the technical adviser over the return of Okey Odita to Rangers," the source revealed. 

"While the management led by Paul Chibuzor want the player, the coaches are kicking against it. The management is of the opinion that the defender still has all it takes to make the grade in the top-flight league, while the coaches are saying that he is too old to fit into their plan for the new season." 

Okey Odita, one of the three Odita footballing brothers, has featured for such clubs as Gabros International, Enyimba, Kwara United among other clubs. 

Meanwhile, 'The Flying Antelopes' continued their fine pre-season form with a 3-1 spanking of Enugu-based amateur side A.V Academy of Abakpa with Dada Bitrus, Razaq Adegbite and former 3SC attacker, Ighodalor Osagona getting the goals.
