The Miyyeti Allah Cattle Breeders'Association in Kwara State has petitioned the Inspector-General of Police over alleged killing of its members in the recent clash between Yorubas and Fulanis at Alapa in Asa Local Government Area of the state.

The association is seeking the transfer of the case from the state police command to Abuja for proper investigation and prosecution.

The petition titled: "Application for transfer of the case on the mass murder of Fulani herdsmen, their wives and children by Yoruba vigilante groups from Kwara Police Command to Abuja for proper investigation,” dated October 26, 2013 was copied to the Director-General, SSS, the state director, the state commissioner of police, National Human Rights Commission, the Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Mohammad Saad Abubakar and Emir of Ilorin Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu Gambari, among others.

The association alleged that contrary to the official figure of three, 18 of their members, including a nursing mother and a six-year-old child were killed during the attack on their villages by vigilante groups from Moro and Asa Local Government Areas in Alapa area of the state.

Briefing newsmen in Ilorin at the weekend, the treasurer of the association, Alhaji Idris Burti, called for the release of Fulani herdsmen who were arrested in connection with the incident.
