Ex-NURTW boss, Yasin becomes Offa Bashorun-designate

Barely few days after leaving office as the President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Usman Najeemdeen Yasin has been bestowed with the title of Bashorun of Offa, Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Yasin, who had earlier served as the President of the Offa Descendant Union (ODU) was conferred with the honour during the reception held in his honour at the Olofa Palace, Offa, penultimate Sunday.

The Ojomu of Offa, High Chief Joseph Akinnola on behalf of the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II announced the chieftaincy for Yasin in the presence of thousands of dignitaries at the palace.

In the same vein, wife of the former NURTW boss, Hajia Maryam Jummai Yasin is to be conferred with the title of Yeye-Bashorun of Offa. However, no official date has been announced for the decoration of the former ODU President and his wife, who is also due for retirement.
