Date: 2012-04-07

The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari yesterday commissioned the Ansarul Islam National Mosque, Abuja. He beseeched God to bless those who had contributed to the building of the mosque and asked the Muslim faithful, especially the rich, to continue to spend their wealth in the cause of Allah.

The Emir also prayed God to grant the founder of the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria, the Late Sheikh Muhammed Kamaldeen, al-jannah firdaus (paradise) for his contributions to the propagation of Islam.

The Emir canvassed support for the establishment of Muhammed  Kamaldeen University Ilorin which, according to him, will complement government's efforts towards providing university education for teaming qualified candidates that could not be accommodated by the existing universities in the country.

Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammed Sa'ad Abubakar, former Head of State General Abdulsalam Abubakar, Nasarawa State Governor Umar Tanko Al-Makura and former governor of Kwara State Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki, who could not attend the event, sent their goodwill messages.

Among the dignitaries at the event are the National Missioner of the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria, Alhaji Abdulraheem Ameenui-Llahi Al-Adabiyy; INEC Commissioner, Alhaji Abdulkadir Oniyangi; the Managing Director and the General Manager of Media Trust Limited, Alhaji Isiaq Ajibola and Mr. Aliu Akoshile, among others. In his Juma'at sermon at the mosque, Alhaji Sofiyullah Kamalud-deen (Khalifat Adabiya) admonished the congregation to fear God and desist from everything that could prevent them from serving Him.
