75% of Ilorin Aviation College Products Employed
The Rector of IAC, Captain Abdulmumin Nuhu AbdulKarim, said this on Wednesday while fielding questions from journalists in ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
He noted that seventy five percent of the trainees produced by the College are gainfully employed, pointing out that the Institution collaborated with the military and other Paramilitary Agencies, especially the Nigerian Air Force, Navy and the Police in the training of their personnel.
Captain AbdulKarim also disclosed that the College is only Aviation College in Africa that provides both the helicopter and Aeroplane training, explaining that the College is offering accredited courses in piloting, air-craft maintenance and other essential services.
According to him, the Institution is able to record the feat due to the standard set aside for the smooth running of the College and the weather which makes the aviation environment perfect.
Captain AbdulKarim who said the Institution produced the youngest female pilot in Nigeria called on the people of the state particularly youths to enroll for different courses offered in the Institution, particularly the Flight Operation Officer's Course known as Flight dispatcher which registration is ongoing.
The Rector of IAC also challenged lawmakers in the state to take a queue from the local government's chairmen by enrolling people of their constituencies into various programmes of the College.
On Social Corporate Responsibility, Captain AbdulKarim said the College would conduct a mock examination for the children of the residents of Odota, Egbejilla, Nuhu and Airport, pointing out that the best candidate would enroll into the Flight dispatcher course of the Institution free of charge.
