SUBEB staff get Mortgage Bank Pass Books
The Kwara State Universal Bassic Education Band (SUBEB) has released National Housing pass book to their staff to enable them access their deposit with the Federal Mortgage Bank.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the SUBEB chairman, Barrister Lanre Nuhu Daibu explained the importance of the housing scheme, adding that in the recent past many Civil Servants had retired from active service without house of their own.
Subeb boss also explained that it is to reverse this ugly trend that the federal government introduced the National Housing fund Scheme to assist civil servants to access fund from the Federal Mortage Bank to be used for building houses, while still in active public service.
Daibu stressed that the housing scheme entails the deduction of 2.5 percent of the monthlu salaries of each Civil Servant. Adding that, this saved for the concerned Civil Servant in an account opened at Federal Morttgage Bank.
He also stressed the monthly pension of Civil savants, even though insufficient to cater for feeding and clothing, still has to be extended on payment of house rent.

Speaking onbehal f of the Bank, Mr Mustapha Aliu, explained that the Bank is ever ready to give loan to the interesting staff of the SUBEB.
Aliu also said the loan attracts Minim interest rate less that 10% and with pay-back period to be fixed to the convenience of the loaned.
In his remarks the permanent Member of the Board Barrister Sikimillahi Solagberu thanked the Federal Government for the opportunities given to the Civil savant in the country.
He promised the bank officials that the SUBEB staffs will make good use of the loan, if granted by the Bank.
