Misconduct: Unilorin expels 24 students
The affected students include Adebayo Akinlabi Ijidakinbo with matriculation number (10/52HA062); Oluwatobi Oladunjoye(10/15EJ014); Akanji Opeyemi Olasunkanmi (07/55EB016); Onifade Abdulrasheed (08/25O3021); Adegbite K. Aderonke (08/66MH155); Akinpelu Akeem (06/66MC052) and Akintokun O. Kafayat (03/66MH023).
Others are Ebofin Sunday (06/66MO108); Olayiwola Oluwatosin (06/66MB065); Olorunmola Zacheus (09/250I113); Lawal Ganiyu (07/10AC167); Osuolale Saheed (06/66MC190) and Rabiu T. Olarewaju (03/15CA060) among others.
A notice to this effect scooped by The Herald at the main campus of the university yesterday revealed that the institution has placed the affected students on security watch.
It has also directed the affected students to vacate the campus in their own interest or be ready to face the full scale of the law in the wake of feigning ignorance to the notice.
In the notice, the expelled students were clad in the varsity’s gown.
The notice, signed by th university’s management reads, “The underlisted students whose pictures appear below have been expelled from the University of Ilorin, having been found guilty of different acts of misconduct.
They are therefore advised in their own interest to keep away from the university campus and submit all university properties in their possessions (if any) to the Dean, Student Affairs. Any of them found on the campus should be immediately reported to the security unit”.
When contacted yesterday on a mobile phone, the Deputy Director, Corporate Affairs of the university, Mr Kunle Akogun, said he has not been officially briefed about the expulsion.
