Court Okays Offa Re-run Election
The APC had filed an application before the state High Court on Aug. 14 after the commission had fixed Saturday for the conduct of the re-run election.
But in his ruling on the application, Justice Tahoeed Soliu-Umar said the application lacked merit and did not prove its claims beyond reasonable doubt to warrant stopping the poll.
The judge directed the commission to go ahead with the conduct of Saturday's election in Offa.
He said the inadequate notice claimed by the APC could not stand the test of time and consequently dismissed the application.(NAN)
