Sports Writers Begin NEC in Ilorin
The first Expanded Sports Writers' Association of Nigeria (SWAN) National Executive Council (NEC) meeting has started in Ilorin, Kwara State at the instance of the Kwara State chapter SWAN.
The state, according to a statement by the state Secretary of SWAN, Mr. Jimoh Bashir, was selected because of the prevailing peace as well as the achievements of the present administration in sports development.
The meeting is the first since the National Congress that brought the present NEC into office.
It would review activities of SWAN so far, draw long and short term plans and also discuss the future of sports development in Nigeria, added the statement.
According to the statement, SWAN will use the opportunity to visit sports institutions and some sports facilities in the state during the visit, as well as pay courtesy visit on the Governor and also confirm Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike, the Pillar of Sports in Kwara as the National Pillar of Sports.
