In preparation for forthcoming local government election in Kwara State, the newly registered party All Progressive Congress (APC) has set aside August 20, 2013 as Party primary election date for Councillorship and Chairmanship.

The election would hold at the one hundred and nineteen wards headquarters and the entire 16 local governments in the state.

The statement was signed by the Chairmen of the defunct party, Alhaji Suleiman Buhari of Congress for progressive change(CPC), Comrade Sola Iji of Action Congress of Nigeria(ACN) and Alhaji Taiwo Eleja of ANPP.

It read that the last date for collection and submission of party nomination forms for Chairmanship and Councillorship aspirants is August 16 at the state secretariats of the three merging parties.

The statement also read that 16th and 17th of August were set aside as screening date for aspirants.

It added that aspirants’ forms within Kwara Central Senatorial District will be screened at the ACN secretariat Asadam Ilorin; while for Kwara South Senatorial District take place at CAN Secretariat Oro and Kwara North old at Moro local government.
