Kwara State Governor, Alhaji. Abdulfatah Ahmed has expressed satisfaction with the pace of work at the construction and rehabilitation of five general hospitals across the state, assuring the people that medical equipment would soon be provided to pave way for official commissioning of the hospitals.

Gov. Ahmed gave this indication at the weekend when he inspected progress of the rehabilitation work at the General Hospital in Share, Ifelodun Local Government Area of the State.

According to the Governor, the expansion and rehabilitation of the general hospitals was to improve quality of heath care delivery in the state.

Alhaji. Ahmed added that it was also in fulfilment of his administration's policy of ensuring that the people of the state access healthcare within 500 metres radius.

Gov. Ahmed assured kwarans that once the five general hospitals in Share, Ilorin, Offa, Kaiama and Omu Aran are taken to fruition levels, work will begin in earnest on another set of general hospitals across the three senatorial zones of the state.

The Governor also inspected the Police Intelligence College under construction in Share.
