Kwara NUJ distributes life insurance certificates to members

The Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ) has commenced the distribution of life Insurance Certificates to all it members across the State.

The State Chairman of the Council, Comrade Abiodun Abdulkareem while presenting the Certificates to the beneficiaries at the Union secretariat in Ilorin, thanked the State Governor Alhaji (Dr) AbdulFatah Ahmed for the release of about N1.7million for the settlement of the 2013 life Insurance scheme for the members.

He informed that the national secretariat of the union has completed life Insurance of all the members of the association in the state with an insurance broker, AMCO insurance PLC.

Abdulkareem also expressed appreciation to the state Government and advised all members who are yet to receive their own life Insurance certificates to proceed to the council secretariat, he also appealed to the government not to relent in its effort to assist the association annually with the payment of the insurance premium.

He however charged members of the association in the state to rededicate themselves to the profession by ensuring balance reportage of events.
Royal times reports that the NUJ national identification cards were also issued to the members of the union at the ceremony.

Responding, a member of the association from the State Information Chapel Mr Yusuf Abdulrasaq commended the leadership of the Kwara State council of the association especially the State Chairman for facilitating the payment of the Insurance Scheme by the kwara state Government.

He also assured him the maximum corporation and support of all members of the union in the state.

Yusuf mentioned that the development would encourage journalists to be more active and remain focus without minding the challenges and hazard of the job.
