Briefing journalists on the outcome of the judgement delivered on Monday, the vice chancellor, Professor Abdulganiyy Ambali noted that Justice Olayinka Faji who presided over the case said his appointment was in accordance with the university's regulations.

He maintained that the institution properly delegated its functions to a committee saddled with the responsibility of shortlisting candidates for the vacant position of the vice chancellor.

Professor Ambali described the judgement as landmark assuring that the institution will continue to follow due process.

In his reaction on phone, professor Rasheed Ijaodola, who is the Dean Faculty of Law Igbinedion University Okada, insisted that he would appeal the judgement.
