KWABES trains 500 on public call office
As part of its continued support on youth empowerment, the Kwara State government through the KwabeS programme on Tuesday, trained about 500 youths during the formal opening ceremony of the GLO Public Call Office (PCO) business initiative.
In his remarks on the occasion which held at the Mandate Hall, Radio Kwara, Ilorin, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youths Empowerment, Alhaji Saka Babatunde, said that the training targeted at youths at the grassroots is a clear testimony of Governor Ahmed's great desire to rid the state of indolence and youth restiveness.
"The growth of any nation its dependent on the productive capacity of it youths. The participation of the youths in the national economy and the zeal with which they drive it determines its growth. No nation can rise above the competence of her work force.
"The task of job creation is a continuous one for both government and the governed. It has become quit clear that the task of job creation should be more vigorously pursued given the over stretched state of the civil service arrangement.
"It is in the light of theirs that the state government has decided to synergize with GLOBAM on the creation of 500 public call office in the success before adding more; Babatunde said.
While congratulations the beneficiaries on the opportunity to become gainfully employed, the special assistant urged then to take the training seriously toward taking their business to the greater heights.
Giving to him, the Glo Public Call Office is a new concept in telecommunication which the Kwara State government is leveraging to empower it s citizens and eradicate poverty in the state.
He also reassured the beneficiaries of the generation of 25 percent return on investment and Glo's basic support in tens of quality customer service and easy access to call centre spread across the country.
