Kwara ACN vows to unseat PDP

Date: 2013-06-17

The Kwara South Senatorial District of the Action Congress of Nigeria on Saturday said it would dislodge the Peoples Democratic Party from the state's governance, starting beginning with the forthcoming local government election up to 2015.

Speaking at the party's summit at Ajase-Ipo in Kwara State, on Saturday, the Chairman, ACN, Kwara South Senatorial District, Alhaji Hassan Salami, accused the PDP government of not providing good governance.

He said residents of the state had not substantially benefited from dividends of democracy.

He also said Kwara South Senatorial District had been marginalised in the distribution of infrastructure and employment.

According to him, people in the senatorial district had not only been marginalised but allegedly displaced from the state civil service.

He stated further that people in the district had been allegedly sidetracked in the recruitment into and promotion in the Federal Civil Service and parastatals as well as top political positions, such as ambassadorial seats.

He also said the senatorial district had been deprived of adequate funding, adding that the state's development was far behind its resources and revenues, from the federal allocation and internally-generated revenue
