Kwara Govt warns mushroom schools

Date: 2013-06-06

The Kwara State government has said it will continue to take decisive action over the activities of mushroom and substandard private schools in a bid to ensure quality education in the state.

The state Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Alhaji Saka Onimago, who disclosed this during an interview with correspondents, warned interested proprietress or proprietors not to run any school without proper registration in line with requirement needed.

He said the state Quality Assurance Bureau will continue to monitor activities of both private and public schools in order to ensure that proper hygienic and conducive environments are provided for learning.

According to him, the state government will not fold its arms and allow some unscrupulous elements to jeopardize the future of innocent children.

He, however, advised students to take their education as first priority, noting that the state government has invested lot of money on educational development of the state.
